The A4/6 Course for Authors (MECI100) is a one-week practicum in the use of Instructional Systems Development (ISD) to write and revise Career Development Courses (CDC). The course is designed
to equip new writers with quality methods for producing effective extension course materials. Students work under the tutelage of
A4/6 educators and gain hands-on experience in every phase of course
development-planning; writing objectives, tests, and text; and processing and evaluating a course. They also become familiar with
A4/6 personnel and procedures.
The Course is held at A4/6 three times per fiscal year; each class has approximately
18-20 students, for an average of 54 students per year.
Eighteen funded slots per class are reserved for CDC
writers; other course authors, civilian or military, may attend at their unit's own expense, provided space is available.
