1874-1965
Statesman, soldier, author, journalist, and painter, Churchill is best known as British Prime Minister during World War II. A graduate of Sandhurst, he saw combat in Cuba, India, the Sudan, and South Africa, later serving with distinction as First Lord of the Admiralty, 1911 to 1915.
