  Wonderful array of statistics, but not one mention of the superior support provided by numerous other key personnel. For example, the aircraft maintenance men and women and other key people who generated the thousand of sorties. Just once I would like to see someone like the General to highlight the dedication, tenacious spirit, and hard work it takes to safely launch aircraft in all kinds of challenging weather and pressures. I cannot thank the people enough who helped me for 28 years. Yes I thoroughly loved them. My work with VNAF showed me how special our Air Force Airman were and are today

  I was a young Capt flying Wild Weasels during DESERT STORM, followed by multiple tours for PROVIDE COMFORT and NORTHERN WATCH. These were followed up with two tours as an ALO in Iraq. The impact operations in Iraq had on me? I was blessed with the opportunity to lead some of the best Airmen in combat and to be led by true heroes. It also shattered my belief that during war the BS was stripped away and accomplishing the mission was what mattered most. Evidently after long enough the mentality of “home” creeps in regardless of where you are or what you are doing.

  All I could think of when I read each bullet was "wow, that cost this nation a lot of money." Funny, I thought the same thing when I was in Balad.
