Welcome

The Air Force Human Resource Management School has 19 in-resident and 5 distributed learning courses to educate AF personnel. We enhance Human Resource Management specialists in leadership, management, and competence skills through comprehensive professional education and develop supervisors according to the institutional competencies.

Overview

The Air Force Human Resource Management School (AFHRMS), located at Maxwell Air Force Base, Alabama, is responsible for leadership development for the force support career field and supervisory development through professional continuing education for the Air Force. Yearly, over 5,000 students participate in the School's professional continuing education courses. Some exported courses are taught at the customer's location or in a distance learning format. The AFHRMS is developing leaders, managers and supervisors in their core competency skills one student at a time. The school has been in existence since 1965.

The Operations and Leadership Development Division focuses on providing the most current and relevant situational awareness, professional development, and continuing education for the most visible among the broad range of leadership activities within the base-level Force Support Squadron.  This division concentrates on the educational domains and needs of key Force Support Squadron leadership positions, which include the Squadron Commander, Deputy, Operations Officer, Flight Chiefs, Mortuary, Protocol, Airmen and Family Readiness, Manpower Staff Officer, Contingency Planning and Emergency Operations.  This division fulfills the leadership, deployment operations, and professional development education requirements for the entire A1 Force Support workforce.

The Future Learning and Civilian Education Division focuses on the delivery of both in-resident and electronically blended distance learning instructional methodologies.  This division provides in-resident and distance learning education to both USAF civilian employees as well as Force Support military and civilian employees.  In addition to delivering education through multiple mediums, this division conducts research, testing and implementing new e-Blended instructional methodologies.

The Workforce Diversity and Civilian Professional Development Division synergize the delivery of key workforce and civilian education to the entire USAF.  This division educates both civilian and military Airmen on leadership, management and responsibilities to successfully begin their tenure in certain Force Support jobs.
