Welcome
The Air Force Human Resource Management School has 19 in-resident and 5
distributed learning courses to educate AF personnel. We enhance Human
Resource Management specialists in leadership, management, and competence
skills through comprehensive professional education and develop supervisors
according to the institutional competencies.
Overview
The Air Force Human Resource Management School (AFHRMS), located at
Maxwell Air Force Base, Alabama, is responsible for leadership development
for the force support career field and supervisory development through
professional continuing education for the Air Force. Yearly, over 5,000
students participate in the School's professional continuing education
courses. Some exported courses are taught at the customer's location or in a
distance learning format. The AFHRMS is developing leaders, managers and
supervisors in their core competency skills one student at a time. The school
has been in existence since 1965.
The Operations and Leadership Development Division focuses on providing
the most current and relevant situational awareness, professional
development, and continuing education for the most visible among the broad
range of leadership activities within the base-level Force Support Squadron. This division concentrates on the
educational domains and needs of key Force Support Squadron leadership
positions, which include the Squadron Commander, Deputy, Operations Officer,
Flight Chiefs, Mortuary, Protocol, Airmen and Family Readiness, Manpower
Staff Officer, Contingency Planning and Emergency Operations. This division fulfills the leadership,
deployment operations, and professional development education requirements
for the entire A1 Force Support workforce.
The Future Learning and Civilian Education Division focuses on the delivery
of both in-resident and electronically blended distance learning
instructional methodologies. This
division provides in-resident and distance learning education to both USAF
civilian employees as well as Force Support military and civilian employees. In addition to delivering education through
multiple mediums, this division conducts research, testing and implementing
new e-Blended instructional methodologies.
The Workforce Diversity and Civilian Professional Development Division
synergize the delivery of key workforce and civilian education to the entire
USAF. This division educates both
civilian and military Airmen on leadership, management and responsibilities
to successfully begin their tenure in certain Force Support jobs.
