Eagle Biography
Colonel (Ret.) Charles B. “Chuck” DeBellevue
Colonel Charles B. DeBellevue is America's top "MiG killer" of the Vietnam conflict. During the course of his 220 combat missions in Southeast Asia, 96 of which were over North Vietnam, Colonel DeBellevue downed two MiG-19 and four MiG-21 fighters. His six victories also earned him the honor of being the first US Air Force weapons systems officer to become an ace. After Vietnam, Colonel DeBellevue continued his 30-year career by earning pilot wings and returning to fly the F-4.
