AREA ADMINISTRATOR (AA) STRUCTURE:
AA's are assigned a geographical area of responsibility containing approximately 100 units per area. AA's operate from a home-office base of their choice (site should be reasonably located in the area of responsibility for adequate and economical performance of duties). AA's set their own schedules and travel arrangements IAW established guidelines. AA's will report directly to HQ AFJROTC.
AA RESPONSIBILITIES:
Primary duty responsibilities are: (1) Conduct on-site Staff Assistance Visits and/or inspections of existing AFJROTC units to ensure school and instructor compliance with contract, and, cost and performance objectives; (2) Gather and provide a variety of reports, documentation and recommendations pertaining to unit operations; (3) Perform site surveys and recommendations for schools applying for program inclusion; (4) Establish and maintain liaison with unit, school and district administrators, and the local community; and (5) Investigate school/instructor performance, problems or complaints. Secondary duties may include visits to Summer Leadership School (SLS) and Aerospace & Technology Honors Camps, and participation during instructor initial certification and recertification training.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Have retired as an Air Force officer within the past 5 Years, or be a current AFJROTC instructor or a prior AFJROTC instructor. Meet Air Force standards of military bearing, appearance, and moral character. Desirable prerequisites: a Masters degree; command experience; teaching experience; experience as an AFJROTC or AFROTC instructor; and experience working with youth groups.
