Information for Inbound Basic Officer Training Students

Congratulations on your selection to the Basic Officer Training program at the United States Air Force Officer Training School. The following information will help you prepare for the challenging nine and a half weeks that will lead to your commission as an officer in the USAF.
Announcements (Aug 14):
-Basic Officer Training has a commercial wireless network (Mifi) on campus. If you have a laptop, tablet, or device that has wireless capability, you should bring it. Printers, wireless or otherwise, are also highly encouraged.
-You must arrive between 1200-1500 hrs/1600 at the latest on your designated arrival day! Eat lunch and get your hair
cut prior to arrival (males). Check the weather for the day and dress accordingly as you will spend time outdoors.
Resources for Inbound Trainees
All future BOT (Basic Officer Training) Trainees need to read through the following documents before coming to OTS:
OTSMAN: This Document contains the procedures that will govern the day to day lives of all OTs (Officer Trainees). Accompanying OTSMAN is the following supplement: OTSMAN Supplement
HAWK: This booklet contains the knowledge and quotes all OTs must learn as part of BOT. A printed copy will be given to you upon arriving to OTS, so you need NOT print and bring your own copy.
Items Required List
The following PDFs cover the items you will use while here at Basic Officer Training. You are not required to purchase any of these items before you get here; however, if you come with uniform items you will only be allowed to alter said items during the first training day. On that day, you will have an opportunity to purchase items outlined in the PDF at the OTS AAFES/Military Clothing Sales. It is recommend that you wait to purchases uniform items because you will be fitted when you purchase them here to ensure proper wear.
You will need approximately $2000 to purchase the items on the list. This can be in the form of cash, credit card, or debit card.
Note: If you do not have enough funds available you will have the option to apply for a Military Star Card when you arrive (See Finance Page).
Items on the Pre-Positioned Items list will already be in your dorm room and will not need to be purchased prior to coming to OTS.
