Welcome, and congratulations on your selection to attend Air University (AU).  Your time here will be both challenging and rewarding. Before you depart for the U.S., please use this website to better prepare you for your arrival and discover all that Maxwell AFB, Gunter Annex, and our local community have to offer. On the right, you will notice links to all International Officer and Non-commissioned Officer courses currently available for International Military Students (IMS) at AU.

When you click the link for your course, you will be directed to an Electronic-Welcome Package. You should already have received this package of information from the Security Cooperation Office located in the U.S. Embassy in your country. The E-Welcome Package contains reporting instructions and other helpful information so that you and your family know what to expect and can make educated decisions before coming to the United States.  Please read it thoroughly, because it will certainly help you with your transition.

In addition to welcome packages, you will find a link to our Student and Family Support section , which contains details about the different programs offered by the International Officer School to support you and your family.  This includes an annual summer program for spouses and children, an adult dependent’s English course, as well as a sponsorship program, among many others.  Information about the local area, housing, and schools can also be found here. Please do not hesitate to contact us about any of the information found on our website.  Our goal is for you to get an early start on your in-processing and orientation so that you can arrive focused and ready to begin your course.

At IOS, we want to prepare you and your families through your arrival to the U.S., support your needs during your entire stay, and become your life-long partner through the enduring relationships we establish. To this end, my faculty, staff and I look forward to meeting each of you…and please let us know how we can help with your transition.
